2016 Alexis Skye Pinot Noir
60% Sangiacomo Family Roberts Road Vineyard
40% Catie’s Corner Vineyard.
The 2016 Alexis Skye Pinot Noir marries the two unique expressions of the vineyard sources seamlessly. The long, slow growing season of the Sangiacomo Family Roberts Road vineyard in the Petaluma Gap imparts deep, dark flavors, while the Catie’s Corner vineyard in Russian River Valley has a lightness of being that’s impeccable. With a deep ruby hue, the nose is replete with fruits ranging from red to black—dried cranberries, raspberries and dark cherries, as well as subtle floral notes of violets and wizened rose petals. Upon further observation, images of a hillside picnic with house-made soppressata and strawberry pie leap to mind. The palate is expansive with notes of blackberries, rosemary and cigar box, finishing with incredible focus and intensity, yeta broad palate weight.
